The Awakening

As the sprouting pushed into the golden rays curling into the light,
Buoyant leaves drifted onto the earth;
Little dew drops touched the brown,
Awakening the dimunitive soul.

As the tide kissed the shore and the winds echoed through the snow peaks,
The li'l one discovered itself,
To the insight of novelty.
Its roots grew deeper,
Its branches not so minuscule,
With unswept prominence,
It stood taller than it could ever be!

Through the light of the day and the cold of the night,
The newfound novelty broadened its mind,
The lonesome plantling searched in vain to quench an obscure thirst;
Deeper it went waging through the rocks,
until the caressing flow soothened its tips.

The blue gushed into its veins, reviving the plantling,
Closing the voids of unknown poignance
And the enchanting fondness prospered,
As the cloud burst asunder
And the heavens descended on its pour;
The souls never could glimpse one another,
Yet their warm embrace kindled an eternal glow.

The plantling grew steeper,
Its eminent branches aspired
The grasp of camaraderie,
With a stripe of kindred seeking.
The cool breeze drifted further,
Pushing the curtains in the skies,
And brightness scattered to infinity,
Streaking on its emerald pores.

The brightness soon faded away,
As the blue no longer seemed unique to its soul;
The fondness that it carried, belonged to its comrades alike.
The parasite of envy clutched to its inner light,
Blinding the tree, to colours of fidelity.

The parasite of envy thrived further,
Choking the tree,
The heavens roared in grief,
As the blue no longer could feel the tree;
Their souls parted like flesh from body.

Tears rolled down the mighty bark,
As it opened its eyes,
To look at the world for one last time,
"Forgive me", said the remorseful tree.

The cold drops tumbled down the leaves,
from the heavens, to touch the brown,
Into which swept an embrace of mercy;
The tree withered away,
To be born again,
Into an unknown infinity.

This poem reaches out to the human mind and the human life. The relationship between the tree and water shows, what misunderstanding can do to people; how it can break even the strongest of bonds.

Credits go to 'Amy Liz', who co-wrote this poem along with me and put in a wonderful effort, through her power in literature. Her words added to the soul of the poem itself.

She has a collection of beautiful poetry potraying the reality of many things.

Always good to work with people of such calibre.

Until next time!
