I stand along the foothills,
Of soaring snow peaks,
in cerulean yonder
And winds in winter bleak.
I trod through the windswept lands,
When the rich marigold sun,
Smothers the brittle frost,
As my trek has begun.
My breathing becomes gruelling,
My lungs feel heavy,
My heart seeks out to her,
Through hopes that are steady.
I push through the twilight,
Without a shudder of fright,
A million stars emerge,
Shimmering in the gloaming.
When I close my eyes,
I see her smile,
Her dark lashes,
Silhoutetted in the light.
My mind stuck in a suspended trance,
My heart begins to burn,
I climb resolute,
As my soul begins to yearn.
As I gained the summit,
The iridescent lights,
Pranced along the alpine snow,
I close my eyes again,
To see her serene and aglow.
The heavens couldn't be more real,
"I made it", I said to her,
A gust of stardust swirled across the night sky,
And I slowly begin to heal.
Of soaring snow peaks,
in cerulean yonder
And winds in winter bleak.
I trod through the windswept lands,
When the rich marigold sun,
Smothers the brittle frost,
As my trek has begun.
My breathing becomes gruelling,
My lungs feel heavy,
My heart seeks out to her,
Through hopes that are steady.
I push through the twilight,
