Climb to Thimphu

Where are we?

The snaking roads manoeuvre,
Through impenetrable layers of green,
A river of clouds emerge,
Engulfing ferns and pine trees.
Cataracts of mountain water,
Dip into the valleys, trundling through the jagged slopes.

Ten thousand rays of the sun,
pierce through the halo mist,
Suspended in gravity,
Flushing our path.

Where are we?

As prayer flags flutter,
Like silhouettes of ghosts stirring the wind,
Unravelling its spells upon mortals,
Muttering wisdom and tranquillity.

Where are we?

As the greens turn grey and greys become white.
Bitter gusts bellow through the altitude,
As the callous touch of the icy zephyr,
Grazes my cheeks and pries into my skin.

The whites drift in thin air, floating,
Cloaking our path,
Where are we??

The sky turns to light!

Is this paradise? Is this the end of the tunnel?
I see magic, I feel magic!

We're in the clouds,
Fogging up the window pane,
Looking at the world,
Speckled beneath us.

We're in the clouds,
Like sailors through cotton fields,
Meandering through the touch,
Of dew drops in heaven.

We're in the clouds.
Scaling the ceiling,
Feeling the gentle kiss of the chill,
Spearing through the envelope.

We're in the clouds.

And so I decided to reimagine 'Climb to Thimphu' through the pictures and videos that I shot during the trip. Do give it a watch. Cheers! :D
