I remember the day,
when it was just you and me,
away from the world,
sitting under a tree.
I looked at her smile,
as she looked at me.
She was mad,
And she was glee,
For the insane lovers,
We were going to be.
My wrists twirled around,
My muscles tensed up,
My heart started racing,
and we slowly started pacing.
Our fingers twirled,
Our palms held tight,
We walked till the edge,
Till the lake was in sight.
The gravel crunched beneath,
The wind whistled with a hollow,
The cliff steeped below,
Where no man could be followed.
Let us take a leap of faith,
As we dive into the blue,
Hold onto my hand she said,
I had no clue.
We stood together facing the light,
With an aura of fear,
Do it! She said,
And we dove into the clear.
We pierced into the blue,
As our breath zipped away,
The cold hit through the feet,
And things began to disarray.
I squinted through my eyes,
darkness beginning to engulf me,
My muscles felt stiff,
With the pain beginning to convulse me.
I looked to my side,
and found her beside me,
She floated around in mystic charm,
Her beauty ever defies me.
We pushed to the surface,
Like two corks in wine,
We tasted fresh air,
and felt divine.
We swam ashore with ease and grace,
Felt the sunshine fall on our face,
How are you sweetheart she said,
Do u feel alive?
Lets do it again,
Get ready for another dive.
The day moved on,
With a lot of cherishment.
All that mattered,
Was your happiness and fulfilment.
Your smile was always my antidote to pain,
Now that I wonder whether everything was in vain.
Alas, these become words to be stowed away,
The pictures in my head, beginning to grey.
I wish you were with me,
Right here, right now,
So that we could dive into the blue,
And bring back the memories somehow.
